Why add battery storage
Without a battery, every kWh your panels produce while you're at work gets exported to the grid for around 18–24c. You then buy back evening electricity at 40c+. A 5 kWh battery shifts 4–5 kWh per day from cheap solar to expensive evening use — saving €400–€600/year.
Battery sizing
Most Irish homes pair best with 5–10 kWh. Smaller (5 kWh) covers evening cooking, TV and lighting. Larger (10–15 kWh) is needed if you have an EV charging at home or run a heat pump on battery. We size based on your real daily consumption profile.
