What SEAI Grants Are Available in 2026? Full Updated List

Yes — all the major SEAI home energy grants are still open in 2026, with the same amounts as 2024/25 for solar PV, heat pumps and the One Stop Shop scheme. The biggest change for 2026 is a slightly stricter Heat Loss Indicator check for heat pump grants and faster online processing times (most grants now pay out within 3 weeks of works completion).

Solar PV — up to €1,800

€700 per kWp for the first 2 kW, then €200 per kWp for the next 2 kW. Cap is €1,800 at 4 kW. Open to homes built and connected before the end of 2020. Installation must be by an SEAI-registered company.

Heat pump — €6,500 (or €12,500 via One Stop Shop)

€6,500 standalone for an air-to-water or ground source heat pump. €12,500 if the heat pump is installed as part of a One Stop Shop deep retrofit. Home must meet the Heat Loss Indicator threshold of 2 W/m²K.

Insulation grants

  • Attic insulation: €800 (detached) / €600 (semi-detached) / €500 (mid-terrace) / €400 (apartment)
  • Cavity wall insulation: €1,700 / €1,200 / €800 / €700
  • External wall insulation: €8,000 / €6,000 / €3,500 / €3,000
  • Internal wall insulation (dry lining): €4,500 / €3,500 / €2,000 / €1,500

Windows, doors and heating controls

  • Heating controls upgrade: €700
  • Solar water heating: €1,200
  • BER assessment (after works): €50

One Stop Shop bonus

Doing three or more upgrades through a registered One Stop Shop unlocks an additional bonus on top of the individual grants and brings the total support up to about 50% of the project cost for most homes. A One Stop Shop manages the whole project — BER, works, grant claim and post-works BER — so you only deal with one company.

Warmer Homes Scheme (free upgrades)

If you receive certain social welfare payments (Fuel Allowance, Working Family Payment, Job Seeker's Allowance > 6 months with children under 7, etc.), SEAI's Warmer Homes Scheme can install attic and cavity insulation, draught-proofing and heating controls for free.

How to apply

Apply online at seai.ie BEFORE works start — applying retrospectively is not allowed. You'll get a grant offer, do the works with an SEAI-registered contractor, submit the declaration of works, and SEAI pays you (or your One Stop Shop) directly.

Bottom line

If you've been waiting, 2026 is a good year — grants are stable, panel and heat pump prices have come down, and electricity prices remain high enough to make the maths work. A combined solar + heat pump + attic insulation project routinely attracts €8,000–€10,000 of SEAI support.
